A night filled of “ohh’s”,”ahh’s” and some “umm…” could only mean one thing-The Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art arrived. Fashion enthusiasts patiently waited with their smart phones in one hand and margarita in the other for the red carpet glamour to begin (and by them..I mean me)!
This year’s gala celebrates “Charles James: Beyond Fashion” and the dress code of “white tie and decorations” was not taken lightly. Jay & Bey took center stage all thanks to her Givenchy crystal-embroidered gown. It was to die for! Charlize Theron, wearing Dior, looked absolutely stunning! The gown is simple, yet so bold and it accentuates her features in all the right places. I definitely think she was one of the best dressed for the night!Blake Lively did not disappoint in her Gucci gown. I’m all about classic Hollywood and she does it so well. The gown’s detailing is what makes the look but the fit, minimal accessories, and hair are what complete it. Hailee Steinfeld wore Prabal Gurung and she looked beautiful! I feel that gala’s should be full of fancy evening gowns and Hailee was one of the few that did. This dress is so bold and classic with the black & white print. You either love ’em or hate ’em but you can’t deny them. Kim looked beautiful in her Lanvin gown, but in my opinion Kanye steals the spotlight. Kanye’s basic black & white tuxedo was sharp and the waist coat was the perfect touch for classic Hollywood.
