70’s Vibes with a Touch of Sexy

Remember how we talked about trends coming back full circle? Well, here’s another one; wide leg pants.

The 70’s trend is back at it and I’m still a little iffy. I mean-let’s get real-I’m not about all those colors and prints. I like to stick to my neutrals. Plain Jane maybe? Nonetheless, I decided to take this trend and make it my own because after all that’s what personal style is all about! Today, I’m showing you how I took this fun and flirty 70’s trend and added a hint of sexiness for the perfect date night look.

If you’re a curvy girl like me then you’re aware that trends don’t always work. That’s why the try-on phase is so important. I won’t know how it looks on me until it’s physically on my body. Sometimes it will hug my curves the right way other times it will just make me look wider and frumpy. And who the heck likes to look frumpy?!?

This past Saturday night we were heading to Long Island City for my friend Jess’s birthday party at Penthouse 808. Side note: We had a great time and I can’t wait to go back in the summer when the roof top is actually open! I knew that if I was going to test it out that tonight would be it. I opted for a black pair of these Forever 21 wide leg trousers because you can never go wrong with black and they’re high-waisted. Normally, high-waisted anything isn’t “suggested” for short girls and even more so short torso’s. Buuttt, clearly I don’t care. They actually happen to fit like a glove and they were the perfect height with my heels. I know, it was a God send. Add a lace crop top, pumps & voila! I LOVED the way it turned out. Classy, yet sexy. And even trendy *wink*.
