There’s something so beautiful about the chaos of New York Fashion week. Sure celebrity sightings, beautiful clothing and all the glitz and glamour will do the trick but it’s everything that goes on behind the scenes that’s intriguing.
Yesterday, I had the honor of going backstage at the Dennis Basso show with Red Door Spa. Eeek. How exciting, right?! There was so much to see and I l o v e d every bit of it. From makeup to hair and then the clothes. Ohemgee…the clothes! It was so magical. And the best part is that I get to share it with YOU!
For starters the hairstylists are like genies or something. Mainly because all I can do is straighten or curl my hair *haha*, but I enjoyed watching them come up with such creative work all while sticking to the theme. Most of the models had their hair pulled back to ensure a very clean and chic look, which was perfect. I’m all about that minimalistic look these days.
And let me tell you..these models are no joke when it comes to their work. This one model chopped off a good chunk of her hair right there on the spot! *shocked emoji face* Next thing I knew she had her hair right above her shoulders. I meaann, we all know how long it took me just to cut six inches off.
And can we talk about those gowns?! So beautiful!! All his designs are handmade in NYC so it was impressive to see all the detailing of the beading. It was so precise. I just wanted to sit back there and play dress up the whole day. Maybe next time *wink*
One of the best parts about a fashion show is seeing the production come to life. It takes a lot of pieces to come together before they fit perfectly in place and we don’t always get to see that. So, thank you to everyone!
I hope you enjoyed coming along for the ride. There was definitely some more BTS on snapchat [lovegreyskies], but since it expired I saved it over on my Facebook page. And while you’re there make sure to give it a like for more related content!
