The beauty world can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you’re rather new to it. Maybe you’re just starting to wear makeup, or maybe you’re a pro and just want to see other’s people’s opinion. Or maybe you’re just curious. Whatever the reason may be, I decided to start testing out some weekly beauty products and sharing my thoughts with you!
I have some products that I’ve purchased within the past couple of months that have just been sitting on my vanity. This will allow me to get through it and not seem so overwhelming. It’s a win-win for both of us! I’ll leave everything linked below as well so you can find it. I actually really enjoyed all of the beauty products so it was a bit hard trying to narrow everything down. There are some products that I feel need some more testing (Garnier BB Cream and Carol’s Daughter leave-in conditioner) so I will keep you updated on those. Maybe they’ll make it to my monthly beauty favorites. I landed on the products shown above since I kept reaching for them on a daily basis. The Exfoliating Shower Whip was divine! It’s an all natural scrub, but it’s unique because it has volcanic ash in it. How awesome is that? I personally enjoyed it for exfoliating my body, which I try to do at least twice a week. It also works as an exfoliating body wash if you mix it with water. The consistency changes into a frothy-like substance. The only downside (to me) is the squeaky clean feeling afterwards. I’m very particular about how my skin feels (i.e., I will die if I have to sit in soaking wet clothes), but it went away once I put lotion on. It left my skin feeling super soft. I actually got a ton of compliments on how soft my skin felt, so it’s a keeper!I caved in and got the Tamanna palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I wasn’t aware that the Amrezy palette would be limited edition, so I was extremely upset when I went to purchase it and it was no longer available. Therefore, I had to purchase the @dressyourface palette because well, we didn’t want that happening again.
I really enjoyed the palette for it’s unique colors. The colors are extremely pigmented and blend out like a dream-seriously. You’ll walk around with that “I woke up like this” attitude. Well at least I did. My favorite shadows were Sangria (berry pink with a hint of sheen), Bengal (great transition/crease color for any look), and Venezia (turquoise shade that makes any look pop). It has a nice mixture of shades so that you can create day and night looks. It’s great for anyone who wants to venture into pops of color, but still stay within their comfort zone. Is this seriously a drug store concealer?! The Maybelline Fit Me is easily one of my favorites. This is in the shade fair/light (10). I had the shade sand (20) before and it blended in really well with my skin, but I wanted to try the lighter shade for highlighting.
I love this product because it blends very well and gives light to medium coverage. The formula is very thin and a bit runny so it’s great for the spring/summer. It lasts a good 8-10 hours for me as long as I remember to set it with my Ben-Nye. For the price point ($7.29!) and quality it’s definitely a no-brainer. You NEED to try this! It wouldn’t be a weekly favorites without some lip products now would it? I say that as if I’ve been doing them forever *laughs* I am completely and utterly in l o v e with these Gerard Cosmetics lipsticks! I tried five of their shades, but instantly fell in love with nude and 1995 (created by Jaclyn Hill). I mix both of them together for a very nice nude-brown shade, which is perfect for this time of year.
They are matte finishes, but they don’t dry your lips which is a plus since “chapped-lips” weather is rapidly approaching. They are super buttery, which I love because they just glide on so smoothly. I highly recommend these shades because they are perfect for any look and can be worn any time of the year. I’ll be doing a swatch video for all the shades and their glosses next week so keep an eye out for it! Also, you can save 25% site wide when you enter “greyskies” at checkout (also includes Whitening Lightning). It makes a great stocking stuffer!
Let me know if you enjoy this new beauty series and if you would prefer it in a video form. Maybe I’ll do both? We’ll see. I’ll be sharing some holiday wish lists and Thanksgiving outfit ideas this week, so stay tuned! Oh, and don’t forget to enter my giveaway with L’Oreal Paris!
Enjoy your week sunshines!
