Vacation doesn’t always have to be white sand and crystal blue water….okay…maybe it should. But, this was definitely not one of those vacations.
Lately, I’ve had the urge to visit Washington DC. I really enjoy visiting museums and experiencing other cultures through art (very different from when you are forced to visit museums for school trips). I decided to plan a five day trip to visit some spots on the east cast. We started in Washington DC, then Philadelphia and ended in Atlantic City. It is extremely refreshing to get away from work, school and everyday life (even if its not sandy white beaches).
Every city is beautiful in its own way. I decided to mix some aztec prints with my white lace dress for some edginess. There is so much to see and do in DC that I knew that I would not be able to wear heels (and last an hour). This was a perfect outfit for a great day!
We grabbed a fancy dinner at Hamilton’s (Ah-mazing!) and it was worth every penny! If you’re ever in the DC area I would definitely recommend it!

We decided to make a stop in Philly for a (obvious) Philly cheesesteak! There was an awesome mural on one of the walls of the buildings in front of Pats. It was a variety of musicians that have come out of Philadelphia.
I really wanted to dress up since we were on vacation, but I wanted to be smart about what I wore on my feet since we were doing a lot of walking. Making sure you have a pair of comfortable booties will dress any outfit up. It will also keep a nice dress from being too dressy if your activities do not permit for heels.

We ended our trip in Atlantic City. We stayed at Harrah’s and went to their pool party, which is beautifully decorated. It makes you feel as if you’re at an outdoor pool party in Las Vegas. I really got to unwind in the hotel and just lounge around. I even played Black Jack (not on the table…yet) and won! I decided to go for a relaxed look since it was exactly how I was feeling! It is the perfect combo for looking casual but nice. Adding some edgy jewelry will also spice up your outfit.
