“Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad”
I am grateful to be able to call the leading man in my life, dad. My father has taught me how to be independent, open minded, as well as knowing what qualities to look for in my future husband. Although the men (or father figures) in our lives should always be appreciated I think it’s important for them to have a day where they get showered with attention.
We had 80 degree weather, which was perfect for eating outside and firing up the grill. What’s better than that? As I grow older, I realize how important bonding time with your family is so I did just that. It’s hard to get caught up in the day-to-day, but it’s moments like these that make life worthwhile. I decided to stick with whites & pastels to enjoy the perfect summer day. I hadn’t worn my aztec printed skirt in awhile so I decided to throw it on and paired it with a white chiffon blouse from New York & Company.
I kept it simple with gold accessories and went for dainty pieces to keep the look very feminine. I also added one of my favorite sandals from Target! I feel like I haven’t been able to find anything recently, but it can just be a shopping slump (umm-is that a real thing?!). I love the mint green T-strap since it adds a splash of color. I also added a hint of pastel purple with my newest lipstick; Dodgy Girl by Kelly Osbourne for MAC. It was definitely a step outside of my comfort zone, but it was definitely fun to try it out. After all, that is what it’s about!
I hope you all enjoyed your day with your loved ones!
