“It’s the most wonderful time of the year..”
Ah..the glam of the holidays. Sequined dresses, sparkly heels, fancy garnished cocktails and let’s not forget kisses under the mistletoe. Or the snowfall (it’s the one month that I don’t mind snow). There’s something about the feeling of the holidays that just make me instantly feel glamorous and romantic.
For me, the holidays are about spending time with the people that you love. Whether you’re going to be a big fancy party or just making your own party in the comfort of your home. I love playing around with different looks for every event because each one has its own story to tell.
I created this holiday look for a casual holiday get-together with some friends this weekend. I went for a very simple, but romantic look featuring some of my favorite Neutrogena products. I absolutely love their eyeshadows because they’re so creamy! It has a built-in primer which doesn’t allow it to crease and also prevents from fading which is perfect for holiday looks. Who has time to actually touch up their makeup while their dancing the night away?! 
Step 1: Apply Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Moisture with Sunscreen (SPF 30): This product keeps my face feeling healthy, moisturized and adds the right amount of healthy glow! Plus, it has SPF 30 which is a necessity for your daily regimen to protect your skin against those harmful UVA rays-yes, even in the winter!
Step 2: Apply Neutrogena’s Nourishing Long Wear Makeup: I’m using the shade ‘buff’ and this foundation provides long wear, full coverage. It has a 20 SPF which is even better once you’re wearing it on top of your moisturizer. In addition to protecting your skin it also has tone correcting elements which allow for a very smooth and even coverage for a flawless look. Can’t you tell?
Step 3: Apply Neutrogena’s crease-proof eyeshadow: I used ‘constant copper‘ all over my lid and blended out the edges with a clean blending brush. No harsh edges over here! I then added ‘stay golden‘ in the inner tear-ducts for a highlight. These shadows are so easy to use because they come in a stick form so they’re perfect for traveling or when you’re on the go.
Step 4: Apply Neutrogena’s Healthy Volume Waterproof Mascara: Topping your mascara with ‘black/brown’ mascara will give you the dimension and length that you need while still keeping your lashes looking natural. This is a great everyday mascara, plus it’s waterproof making it perfect for those snowy mistletoe kisses *wink*
Step 5: Apply Neutrogena’s Nourishing Eyeliner: I used ‘cosmic black’ for a dramatic effect. I lined my upper lid and smoked it out with the attached smudger. It’s a rubber felt tip and it glides easily along my lid while creating the perfect smoked out eye. For an extra dramatic look, I lined my lower lid and smoked it out as well. Bonus-it has a built in sharpener as well!
Step 6: Apply Neutrogena’s Moisture Smooth Color Stick & Moisture Shine Gloss: Now to my favorite part! By now, I’m sure you know I’m a lip product lover and I l o v e the way my color stick in ‘juicy peach‘ smells. It’s a great nude shade which is perfect for everyday! It leaves my lips feeling moisturized which is a must-have for me, especially during these harsh winter months. Since it’s the holiday season, sparkles are a must so I added some gloss in ‘pure cider‘ for that extra glam effect. Oh and don’t forget to curl your hair!
Final Look
Now that we’ve danced and drank the night away it’s time to relax.
No matter how tired I am (or how many glasses of wine I’ve had) I have to take my makeup off. Not because it doesn’t feel right, but because of the effects that it can have on my skin. I’ve learned to really listen to my skin and what it’s asking for. And not removing my makeup? Well let’s just say my face isn’t a fan of that. I have to use my Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing towelettes because they remove almost all of my makeup and they don’t leave a slimy residue.
