There’s nothing like some good ol’ NYC fun. Especially when you’re still celebrating birthdays!
No, don’t worry it wasn’t mine. We were celebrating Garry’s birthday (yay!). Yes, our birthdays are four days apart. Fun fact-our anniversary is right in the middle of that. Busy week, eh? This past week and a half has been nothing but crazy, but the good kind of crazy.
We stayed at one of my favorite hotels, The W New York Union Square, and we couldn’t have been happier. I love the location (there’s a Sephora right across the street-literally). It’s a great spot for shopping and eating…and well, we all know how much I like both *winks* Since we had a late check-out on Sunday we decided to do just that.
I don’t know about you, but I like to be comfortable when Im walking around a big city. If you can do it in heels girl, then more power to ya! I wanted the look to be very minimal with just a bit of edginess. You know I’m all about that touch of edge! This look is so simple to recreate and it’s great for when you want to grab a drink with some friends, movie night, or even when you’re running errands and want to look stylish (yet with the least amount of effort). All you need is your favorite pair of jeans, t-shirt, moto jacket and booties!
Start with a pair of your favorite colored jeans. I’m obsessed with these because they’re a dark muted grey and only $7.90! You can’t beat that! Then just throw on a loose-fitting t-shirt. Don’t have one? Try your boyfriend’s closet. Since it’s a bit loose it will automatically give it that casual vibe. I like to tuck in the front, just a tad, so that it’s not so messy and you can see more of my curves. Remember, you don’t want to look like you’re drowning in the shirt.
Style Tip: Monochromatic looks are very popular this season because they appear to be very chic and crisp. Try pairing the jeans with a matching shirt (or even within the same color scheme) for that same feel! It will help “dress up” the look while still allowing you to be comfortable. This tip also helps you create additional looks with the clothes you already own-it’s a win-win!
Now are you ready to edge it up a bit? Throw on your moto jacket–definitely a closet staple– and complete the look with your favorite booties! Want some more edginess? Go for pieces that have silver hardware so that it accentuates the particular item while complimenting the entire look. Cut-out booties will have the same effect!
Look at that! Now you’re ready to hit the town!
I hope you’re enjoying this beautiful day!
