One of the most frustrating things I experience in the mornings is being able to put together an outfit-when I have less than ten minutes. I’m sure we’ve all been there. Right?
“I really need new clothes”-Me, every morning.
That’s often when we feel that we don’t have anything to wear even though we’re staring at a closet FULL of clothes. Yea, it happens a lot. With all the changes taking place lately I decided to try and relieve some of that unnecessary stress and it works! I’ve read numerous articles and blogs mentioning planning, but it wasn’t until I actually started to do it that I actually noticed a difference. So now I spend Sunday night’s dedicated to planning my outfits for the week. I’ll spend about a half hour just putting pieces together and I make sure to put on some music to make it fun and just let my creativity flow. Today, I’m sharing how to mix polka dots + stripes for a statement worthy outfit. With that being said, I started to find ways to play with different prints and colors-something I wasn’t doing as much. For this look I started to play with patterns and I am OBSESSED with how it came out. I just got this beautiful sheer polka dot blouse from the Who What Wear Collection at Target and paired it with their cropped denim pants. At first glance I felt like it was too much of an all black look so I decide to add their white striped clutch. The stripes are large so the contrast with the tiny polka dots pair really well together.
To top it off I paired it with their camel trench which has quickly become a staple item for me. They’re so in right now and I love being able to wear it multiple ways (like as a dress) for a variety of looks. I always say that getting dressed should be fun so don’t be afraid to play around. I wore this out and about and it’s been one of my favorite looks because it’s chic and very stylish.
What prints and patterns do you like mixing?
