How To| Simple Work Outfit

It finally feels like spring is here to stay *fingers crossed* It’s been a little more than a week of straight sunshine and warmth. Can I get an amen? I’m just hoping that Mother Nature doesn’t change her mind!

With that being said, it can be a little difficult to get dressed for work in the mornings. Less layers means less options, right? Well, not exactly! You know I’m a sucker for a more minimal and simplistic look which can very well play to your work outfit advantage. Now I know we all don’t have the same dress code regulations but if you’re someone who has a bit more flexibility then these tips will be great for you! Dress down Friday, anyone?

First things first and that’s making sure that you have key items in your wardrobe. The thing about these key pieces is that your able to mix and match them with other pieces, which will give you a lot of versatility when deciding what to wear. I’m thinking of doing a post on work attire staples-let me know if you would like it in the comments section below!

A crisp white button down is a must for any wardrobe. It’s classic and it screams sophistication. And who doesn’t want to look polished and sophisticated at work? Especially when you’re getting called in for that promotion you’ve been waiting for. Am I right? #GirlBoss

Another piece that can be essential to your work wardrobe is a pair of (semi) distressed boyfriend jeans. They are fitted enough where it hugs your curves, yet loose enough to not be considered vulgar. Remember, it’s all about balance. Make sure that you’re also aware of the rips in your pants. Your work boyfriend jeans should have minimal rips (if any) and make sure that if they do they are located below the knee. That’s why I love these pair that I found from H&M and they’re super comfortable!

Next, just put them together and throw on your favorite heels and voila!

I opted for these mule sandals from Forever 21. They are a big trend for spring/summer so I wanted to try them out. They’re pretty comfortable and I love how they draw attention. This look is super easy to put together and you will look instantly chic all while being comfortable AND getting those extra 10 minutes of sleep! Now that my friends, is a win-win!

Style Tip: For a more polished look, tuck in your shirt. You can even add a fitted blazer for an even more sophisticated yet stylish look. Oh, and trade out your mules for your favorite pumps to pull the look together and be street style ready!

Oh, and this look can definitely be worn outside of work! I’m all about versatility and getting the most out of my wardrobe. I wore this look last week and went for dinner and drinks with some friends and it was perfect.
