If you’re Instagram timeline is anything like mine then the influx of neutrals and earth tone colors have claimed to stay. And with no intention of leaving any time soon.
But how do I know what colors to actually incorporate into my wardrobe?
Well I’m here to help! Maybe you’re not a neutral girl or maybe you just prefer a brighter color palette. Great! You should always stick to your personal style and preferences, BUT don’t be scared to step out and try something new. After all they do say “life begins at the end of your comfort zone” *wink* Still not sure where to start? Today, I’m giving you the easiest way to wear this fall’s IT color. And I must say-it’s quite comfortable! When trying new trends (or in this case colors) I often prefer to ease into it. Personally, I don’t remember ever being a fan of khaki green (or even anything green) *haha*, but within the past year or so it has slowly crept into my wardrobe. And trust me, I’m not complaining!
The first thing you want to do when trying a new color is to make sure you buy it in something that you’re comfortable wearing. Maybe it’s a basic tee or dress. Start small and see how you feel about it. You don’t want to shell out the big bucks for a trendy piece that you’ll never wear. It’ll leave you with buyers remorse and broke. Trust me…aint nobody got time for that!
Okay, you have your new khaki dress. Now what? Well, you want to make sure that you’re styling it in a way that is comfortable to you. Remember, this is all about YOU and YOUR style. The point is to embrace the trend-not let it take over you. Pairing it with basic pieces allows you to look and feel more put together. For me, I tend to mix in white or black pieces because they’re classic colors and go with any look.
This snap button dress made its debut at the GQ & Glamour Fashion Event at Roosevelt Field Mall on Friday night. My new lace up pumps gave the right amount of contrast and I balanced out the look with a creme colored handbag. Very basic & simple-yet clean and put together! Plus this dress is SUPER comfortable. Trust me, I kind of felt guilty for looking dressed up and actually feeling like I was lounging in my favorite long tee.
Have you tried this color trend? Comment down below what some of your favorite pieces are! I’m eyeing a new bomber jacket *eek*
Besitos!
