I wasn’t lying when I said the color grey was taking over my wardrobe. I’ve just been so drawn to it lately and this cape sweater was no exception.
It’s a bit tricky wearing something so loose because I am curvy and I don’t want to loose my shape in my clothes. In that case, I always recommend trying it on in-store because you want to make sure the material isn’t stiff. The material should move around with your natural curves instead of creating a boxy shape. This sweater is so soft and moves well so I took the corner and tucked it into the side of my leggings. Why the side and not the front? Well, no one wants to see your who-ha and that’s exactly what leggings do so I prefer tucking on the side. It still allows the sweater to flow and show your curves at the same time. You can also belt it at your waist for a more defined look.
I love that it has a turtle neck because it makes it so much cozier and versatile. It’s hard to dress up when it’s freezing outside (literally) so this it definitely a great option. You can wear the sweater for a very casual look and still be stylish (just change the heels to a pair of Converses) or keep it dressed up like I did. I wore this look for a date night with my boo at Barrique. It’s such a great tapas restaurant and the decor is very rustic and beautiful. It’s our go-to spot when we can’t decide. Delicious food and great wine is always a no-brianer.
Now, let’s talk about this coat! I died when I got this for Christmas. I am in l o v e with the color. Who knew pastels would be such a big hit this winter? But, I am loving every minute of it. This coat is so chic and I feel very Parisian when I wear it. Think Carrie Bradshaw-all I needed was an extravagant hat and a pair of pumps. I love the texture of the coat because it makes it different from all my other ones. You’ll definitely be seeing a lot of this baby! I always like to mix my pastels with neutral colors so that it’s not over-the-top girly, which can sometimes come off tacky. Hence why baby pink and light grey are a great color combo.
It’s so funny to me how different trends make a comeback. I remember when I was younger and my sister would always dress me in turtle necks and I hated it. Who would have thought years and years later I would buy them all on my own?
I have some dinner plans tonight with my friend Rachel who is visiting from California. I haven’t seen her since she made the big move so Im excited to catch up over some margaritas. I hope you’re enjoying your week!
