Is it me, or did summer just race us to the finish line? I can’t believe that cozy sweater -pumpkin spiced latte (yum!) weather is rapidly approaching.
I spent my Labor Day weekend visiting my parents on Long Island and it was like a breath of fresh air. As much as I love the city- I enjoyed the open road, mounds of trees and bonding time over the fire pit. Although the weather was extremely humid (instant bad hair day) and cloudy, we were still lucky enough not to get hit with rain. The plus side? My dad’s corn on the cob (delicious!), which reluctantly made up for the thirteen mosquito bites.
My obsession with curling my hair may be very-well, unhealthy. BUT, this is the first time in my life that my hair has been able to hold curls without rollers and a pound of mega hold hairspray! (Thank you Hot Tools!!!)
I found this crop top and immediately wanted to wear it for the Fourth of July, but quickly realized that it had passed (sad face). I purchased it anyway in hope of an upcoming patriotic event and Labor Day won!
Crop Top (Forever21)/Skirt (similar)/Booties (Target)/Lipstick (MAC)
I styled it with my navy blue high-waisted skirt and taupe booties. The neutral colored boots allow to add a subtle hint of color without diminishing the focus of the top. The whole outfit was tied in with simple silver jewelry and my favorite red lipstick (Russian Red by MAC). I love how the red lipstick compliments the look instead of overpowering it. This look is a great way to turn a casual tee into a flirty yet comfortable outfit!
Hope everyone had a safe & fun Labor Day weekend!
