It’s no denying that the holidays are a very hectic time of the year.
Of course it’s about spending time with your loved ones and creating new memories, buuut it’s all the prep work beforehand that makes us want to rip our hair out. The gift shopping, holiday party planning, getting our nails done, finding the perfect holiday party dress…the list goes on. And there never seems to be enough time in the day!
To make things a bit easier I created a very festive holiday makeup look with products from Ulta Beauty! This metallic eye tutorial is simple but very versatile, which is great for this season because you can mix it up for each party. Alright, let’s get into it!
While I was at Ulta Beauty I found the Star Dust palette that I’ve been dying to try! It’s a collaboration between the beautiful Vegas Nay and Too Faced so I knew it had to be a great palette. Plus, it comes with an eyeshadow primer, deluxe sample mascara, and glitter pigment for $45. Yup! All of that! Crazy, I know.
First Step: Use the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer on your eyelid before applying any product. This is a staple for any party look because it adheres to your lid and makes your eyeshadow last longer, especially if you have oily lids.
Second Step: Take a fluffy tapered blending brush and go in with the shade Millennial into the crease. This is a great transition shade since it will be peeking through. Plus, it blends so smoothly! Just keep going back and forth in the crease in wind-shield wiper motions.
Third Step: Next, take the shade Girl’s Night (how cute are these names?) with a tapered blending brush and place it in the crease as well. Make sure to keep this shade just in the crease and don’t blend upwards. This will help create more depth within the look and really define the crease.
Fourth Step: Take a flat shader brush and and pack the shade Pink Pearl on the lid. This shade is SO beautiful! It has an iridescent finish which is perfect for a holiday look! Then take the shade The Strip and pack that right over it. It’s a beautiful silver/purple metallic shade and really intensifies the look.
Fifth Step: After, go back in with the blending brush and take the shade Double Tap. This will go in the outer corner of your eye and blend it toward the center of the crease. This will intensify the crease and add even more definition to the look. The key here is to just keep blending until the shadows look nice & smooth!
Sixth Step: With a pencil brush take the shade #selfie and place that in the inner tear duct. This is going to open up the eye and give it a more open look.
Seventh Step: Take your favorite liquid eyeliner and get to winging it! I went with a very thin wing since I wanted to keep it light. This look works great without the eyeliner as well and gives a more awake look if you prefer that.
Eighth Step: This palette comes with one of my FAVORITE mascaras. Yes, I said it. The Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara brush is amazing. It fans out all my lashes one by one and lengthens them. I usually like going with 2-3 coats when I’m not wearing falsies.
Ninth Step: To complete the eye look you want to recreate what you did on the top lip on your bottom lid. I took a little fluffy brush and just blended the shades together to create an intense smokey look. I’m a big fan of wearing eyeshadow on the bottom lid because I feel like it really completes any look.
Tenth Step: Add your favorite lippie to top off the look! I went for a berry lip for a very fun and festive look. This is Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Aria. I love how long it stays on my lips which is perfect for a party because you don’t have to worry about touch ups!
And voila! You’re done!
I hope this helped free up some of your time and remember to enjoy the season!
