As a woman there’s so many things we have to maintain. It can get a bit hectic having to worry about our careers, family, friends, and our own personal happiness. Let’s not forget all the fun & relaxing stuff like nails, hair, makeup, outfits, etc-the list goes on and on. And they decided to make the first superhero a man-psshhhh *laughs*
Last Monday, I had the chance to visit the Red Door Spa in Woodbury again, but this time it was for an Olaplaex treatment. Now what the heck is an Olaplaex treatment?! It’s basically insurance for your hair (sounds exciting, right?) and we could all use a little of that! FYI: I found my first gray hair last month *wahhh*
But before we get into all of that I wanted to take you on my journey on at the Red Door Spa! It’s such a beautiful and relaxing place-probably one of my favorites-that I usually carve out that day as a “me” day. Hey, we’re all entitled to those! I want that day to be as relaxing as possible so I usually do some at-home treatments like a mask and even a little mani/pedi action before heading out to the spa. This time I wanted to do a little bit more of a “behind the scenes” type of shoot so there are a lot of selfies!
Alright, let’s go!
While I’m a big coffee drinker-this day called for some refreshing water. It was waayy too hot and humid so this cold glass of lemon flavored water hit the spot! Am I the only one that finds this photo so refreshing? *laughs* They have a huge selection of magazines so I love diving in and catching up! It seems to be the only chance that I get to lately.
The first step was to start with the Bond Multiplier. This was applied to my dry hair and left in for about 5-10 minutes.
After that, she applied the Bond Perfector. This was left on for about 20 minutes and left to just soak into my hair. This is my favorite part because you get to just relax and read. It’s so quiet (literally) and peaceful. They even have a relaxation room where you can get even more comfortable-so you better believe I made my way in there!
Okay, so what’s with all the hype about the Olaplex treatment? The Olaplex treatment works as a “reset” for your hair by allowing it to help rebuild it’s strength and integrity. If your hair isn’t able to pick up color anymore or it’s too damaged from color processing or any chemical treatments then this part is extremely (I mean it!) recommended. If you’re going lighter in multiple sessions then they also recommend this step after each session to help maintain the integrity of your hair. It also helps with breakage caused from those processes and just your day-to-day from brushing your hair and whatnot. Now that you get that part then you know what all these celebrities do when they’re switching from light to dark hair and it’s still shiny and pretty. *cough, cough-Kim K*
For me this is extremely important because it extends the life of my color, which winds up being very cost effective. We all know how those trips to the salon can be quite expensive. Plus, and it’s a big plus-my hair felt so soft and looked so shiny!! Could it get any better?! Oh, and it’s also free of any silicone sulfates which are really bad for your hair.
And these products are also ah-mazing! They smell SO good (always a must for me) and they just enhanced what the treatment did to my hair. I need to get my hands on these!
I’ve been wanting to experiment with color again so we’ll see. If that’s the case, it’s safe to say that I’ll be back!
Have you ever tried the Olaplex treatment? If so, what do you think about it? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
