Ever have that “aha” moment when you just add a finishing touch to an outfit and you just fall in love? Yup, that’s what happened here.
If you can’t tell by now, I’m obsessed with basic pieces and anything in white (I blame Olivia Pope). I just love how playing with solid colors can transform any outfit and make it look so chic!
I was getting ready to head to dinner and I wanted to wear these shorts that I found hidden in the back of my drawer. Why was I rummaging through my drawers? Well, I made myself a promise to style pieces that I already have in my closet-and I did just that. These shorts were a great score from Forever 21 about two years ago. I love that they are high-waisted because I have a short torso so it fit’s perfectly around my waist. Plus, I love the whole “picnic tablecloth” feel they have to them. At least that’s what I thought of when I first spotted them.
I paired the shorts with a white basic tank, but I felt that it was too casual for dinner. When I went into my closet, I practically saw my white Zara blazer glowing and I knew that it would be the perfect touch. It dramatically changed the look!
Who doesn’t love white and gold? I most certainly do! I focused on chunky rings and a royal blue statement necklace for an extra pop and it brought the whole look together.

When in doubt, go with nude heels! They pair with mostly anything and making your legs appear longer is always a perk.
I hope you’re enjoying the start of your week and don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone! I’ll leave you with a quote that I found so motivating…
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” –Michael Jordan
