Over the years I’ve become a huge fan of wearing white, especially during the summer [Fun Fact: I used to hate it].
There’s just something so crisp and clean about it during this time. And when I think about summer weddings it’s hard not to correlate the two. Trust me, I’ve seen plenty of women wear long white dresses. BUT, I do believe in guests straying away from it when attending a loved one’s magical day. Just me?
Since I have a wedding to attend on Sunday I’ve been playing dress up and trying to find something that was crisp clean and wedding appropriate. I must say…I think I hit the nail on the head. I wish you knew how many minutes it took to remember the correct saying *haha*
I recently got this gorgeous blossom pencil skirt and I knew it would be perfect for a summer wedding look. The detailing of the florals is gorgeous and almost resembles a painting. It looks so feminine and chic so you know I was immediately drawn to it. The length is very appropriate, but you get a hint of sexiness in the back. There’s that balance, ladies! I LOVE the asymmetrical slit in the back because it lets you show a little leg and it adds a lot of structure to the skirt. We’re talking win-win here!
To complete the look I paired it with this lace embroidered top from H&M. I’ve really been into structured pieces lately and I love how the shoulders create a more boxy-like appearance. Normally, I’m not a fan of that look because I have larger arms, but that’s why you should always try things on! Clearly, I winded up loving it! The skirt really balances out the top because it hugs your curves and creates a very lady-like silhouette. And the gold detailed zipper? Yasss!
How do you make this look even more summer appropriate? By adding a pair of hot pink pumps! It’s the perfect amount of color and I love how it pops against the blue in the skirt. I added a white clutch with a gold trim and gold accessories to compliment the detailed zipper. And NOW your summer wedding guest outfit is complete! (and you still got to wear white *winks*)
