Don’t we all just want to relax after a long and hard working week?
We’re constantly working on our goals & pushing towards our dreams, taking care of our family and friends…don’t we deserve a little “me” time? I would say so. Actually I would say-heck yes!!
Self-care is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Although eating healthy and working out are the everyday focuses it’s very important to pamper yourself as well. Those mental resets and alone time are the ones that help us get through those tough days. Especially when those woo-sahs don’t quite do it.
Recently, I had the opportunity to try out the Brandied Pear & Marshmallow Melt Body treatment (that’s a mouthful *haha*) at Red Door Spa in Woodbury. Let me tell you-it was the most luxurious and soothing treatment I’ve EVER had. Yes, ever! Clearly, you need to try this too and I’m going to tell you why *winks*
If you’re like me then a trip to the spa doesn’t come quite as often as we would like. For this reason I always enjoy trying out their seasonal treatments/services and this one caught my eye for sure. I mean, how does a “marshmallow melt body treatment” not intrigue you?!
Well, what the heck is it? The end result is basically to exfoliate your body and leave it feeling soft and buttery. But in reality-it’s so much MORE than that.
Montrese, my aesthetician, did a great job by explaining everything beforehand and making sure I felt comfortable every step along the way. After I changed out of my clothes I slipped into a very warm and comfy bed. She started out by massaging the Brandied Pear scrub along my body, which felt amazing because you could feel it getting rid of all the dead skin. There’s just something about exfoliating that makes me feel so fresh and clean!
After about 15-20 minutes of scrubbing I was able to rinse it all off. Don’t worry, they supply you with all disposable garments. Then came the relaxing part! Montrese used the Marshmallow Melt cream to massage my whole body. She was very thorough, which I loved because you want to make sure that you’re getting what you pay for (let’s keep it real) but she still managed to exceed my expectations. I felt as if I was on cloud 9. There was nothing that could ruin this luxurious moment and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. It was a mental escape that I never experience before and it left my body feeling super soft. Talk about a treatment!!
Montrese’s Tip: This is great to start the winter with because it keeps your skin nice and moisturized. Be sure to not take a shower until the next day because you want the cream to seep into your skin and keep it hydrated.
This is just what I needed after feeling a bit gloomy the past couple of days. Not only did it allow me to relax and unwind, but I was able to refocus and think a lot clearer. See what a little pampering can do? Be sure to take advantage of this treatment since it’s seasonal (and ask for Montrese!), but most importantly because YOU deserve it!
