Valentine’s Day is slowly approaching (can you believe it?!)
This is my first look from my Valentine’s Day series and I just absolutely fell in love with it *no pun intended* I’ve always loved Valentine’s Day because it’s a great reason to drink wine and eat lots (and lots) of chocolate-whether you have a significant other or not. This year I’m really focusing on embracing every moment and making the best of it so even if you don’t have a boyfriend/girlfriend you can always share the day with your family or friends-or make it a party and share it with both!
I got this sweater for Christmas and I knew it would be perfect for this occasion. It’s just so feminine and flirty which is definitely a no-brainer for Valentine’s Day. It’s cute to wear pink or red, but you want to make sure that you don’t over-do it. Otherwise it looks tacky and no one wants to look tacky. So I balanced out the colors with some soft neutrals.
To keep it classy, I added a pair of opaque tights and a faux pearl necklace. I’m usually not much of a tights girl, but it’s been way too cold to brave that wind. Lately, I’ve been liking the extra conservative touch. Hm, I guess I’ve had Blair Waldorf on the brain. Want another way to tie your look together? Play with your makeup! I used a combination of some soft pinks and plums from Anastasia Beverly Hills and Makeup Geek (I’ll link them down below) and I really enjoyed how it came out. Tutorial anyone? Since this look is more on the romantic side I think soft loose curls are perfect for the occasion. It’s usually my desired style anyway so I’m glad that it fits this look.
Staying in the holiday spirit I wanted to share one of my favorite quotes from Dr.Martin Luther King Jr; “Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase”. I absolutely love this quote because I feel like the fear of the unknown holds a lot of us back. I know that’s something that I struggled with when deciding to follow my passion and still continue to do so. But all it takes is one step at a time which seems a lot more achievable.
