It’s wedding week here on Love, Grey Skies!
The past few weeks have been full of weddings and I figured, why not make it a theme on the blog? As you already know I was a bridesmaid in the beginning of May and I attended another friend’s wedding on Memorial Day. And I have one more wedding to go to this Sunday! So, I’m sure the theme seems pretty fitting.
The best thing about spring/summer weddings is the weather! The sun is shining, love is in the air, and the cocktails are flowing. Sounds like a recipe for a perfect day, right? The only missing piece? Trying to figure out what to wear on such a magical day. Normally, I would recommend opting for a colorful palette. Think bright, bold colors or even soft pastels. But this New Yorker is a sucker for classics-and a LBD is something that you can’t go wrong with!
This gem was hidden on a dress rack in Forever 21 for only $24.90! I actually bought it as a backup birthday dress, but didn’t wind up needing it. So, what’s the next best thing? A wedding! I wore this to my friend Allison’s wedding on Memorial Day. It’s perfect to wear as a wedding guest because of the long chiffon. I love that it has the slit in the front so it allows your legs to poke through and show some skin. It’s all about keeping the balance between sexy and classy ladies!
I wanted to elongate my legs since they would be peeking through the dress and these heels did just that! This dress is also great for pairing with a statement shoe and that’s what I love about wearing an all black dress. You can make it colorful just by adding printed shoes, a bright clutch, or even jewel colored accessories. Your options are endless!
So when in doubt-just always go for the classic LBD. Trust me.
Oh, and how could we not talk about today’s BIG news! I’m not going to lie, my day got a little better when I saw the Vanity Fair cover. Caitlyn Jenner looks absolutely stunning! I’m so inspired by her courage to really live life happily! You only get one shot and I’m a true believer that you have to do the things that make YOU happy. Talk about breaking the internet!
